Overview

The Project on Immigration, Ethnicity and Race (PIER) works on several interrelated projects. One project deals with the role Latinos played in the 2004 elections. It includes an analysis of Latino participation in key states including surveys of Hispanic citizens. The results will be published as the fifth volume in the Latinos and Presidential Elections series by Rowman and Littlefield. Another project focuses on immigrant political incorporation including an analysis of remitting behavior and the role of immigrant associations in promoting transnational linkages and incorporation into the United States. The Project is also involved in arranging a seminar on U.S. politics at Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE), Mexico's leading research institution.
