Continuity and Change in European Union Financial and Corporate Cultures: Challenges and Obstacles for Accession Countries

by Irene Finel-Honigman (International and Public Affairs) and Volker Berghahn (History)

This is a research and teaching project on the transformation of corporate and financial cultures, primarily in France and Germany, in the context of European Union integration and enlargement. The project will study through the lens of history, politics, and culture, the implications and applicability of these changes since the creation of the European Union on future cross-regional and US-EU strategic alliances and mergers. It will extrapolate lessons for European Union accession countries, specifically the former Central and Eastern European socialist economies.
