Workshop on Contentious Politics

Organization

Overview

The Workshop on Contentious Politics has been running in various guises at various universities for thirty years. In its current guise, it reviews work in progress on contentious politics, broadly defined, mainly by faculty and graduate students in history and social sciences at Columbia and other New York Area institutions. In general, about fifty people from SUNY Stony Brook, Rutgers, SUNY Purchase, NYU, Yale, CUNY, The New School, Drew, Wisconsin, Princeton, Hofstra, Columbia, New York nonprofits, and overseas institutions attend at various times during a given semester.

Members of the Contentious Politics workshop communicate via an open listserv. If you are interested in subscribing to the listserv, please send a one word message—subscribe—without a subject, signature, or any other message to amsoc-request@columbia.edu. If you weary of the conversation, send another one word message—unsubscribe—to the same address.

Messages for the listserv may be sent to amsoc@columbia.edu. Messages to this address will be distributed to all listserv members. Please be respectful of the protocols.
