Dr. Hamilton will deliver a Keynote Address with comments by Dianne Pinderhughes, University of Notre Dame, Michael Dawson, University of Chicago and Nikhil Pal Singh, New York University.

Black Power at 50 is a conference celebrating the scholarly legacy of Charles V. Hamilton and the fiftieth anniversary of the book Black Power: The Politics of Liberation in America, which was co-written with the late Kwame Toure (Stokely Carmichael). The conference will focus on two of Hamilton's books—Black Power and The Dual Agenda. The scholarship from these books continues to shape our understanding of race and American Politics.
