Leveraging Population-based Cancer Registry Data to Study Health Disparities exploratory/developmental grant (R21)

The goal of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to efficiently use the existing cancer registry infrastructure by augmenting data already collected with additional information needed to understand health disparities among people diagnosed with cancer. Specifically, this FOA will support the study of factors influencing observed health disparities within the framework of population-based cancer registries by the inclusion of data not routinely collected by or linked to the registries. The studies should be hypothesis-driven and multidisciplinary approaches are encouraged.

The Ecology and Evolution of Infectious Diseases program supports research on the ecological, evolutionary, and socio-ecological principles and processes that influence the transmission dynamics of infectious diseases. The central theme of submitted projects must be quantitative or computational understanding of pathogen transmission dynamics. The intent is discovery of principles of infectious disease transmission and testing mathematical or computational models that elucidate infectious disease systems.

NIH Director's Transformative Research Awards (R01)

The NIH Director's Transformative Research Award complements NIH’s traditional, investigator-initiated grant programs by supporting individual scientists or groups of scientists proposing groundbreaking, exceptionally innovative, original and/or unconventional research with the potential to create new scientific paradigms, establish entirely new and improved clinical approaches, or develop transformative technologies.
