Faculty Early Career Development Program

CAREER: The Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program is a Foundation-wide activity that offers the National Science Foundation's most prestigious awards in support of junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education and the integration of education and research within the context of the mission of their organizations. Such activities should build a firm foundation for a lifetime of leadership in integrating education and research.

NEH Summer Stipends

Summer Stipends support individuals pursuing advanced research that is of value to humanities scholars, general audiences, or both.

Recipients usually produce articles, monographs, books, digital materials, archaeological site reports, translations, editions, or other scholarly resources.

Summer Stipends support continuous full-time work on a humanities project for a period of two consecutive months.

Summer Stipends support projects at any stage of development.

NEH Collaborative Research Grants

Collaborative Research Grants support interpretive humanities research undertaken by two or more collaborating scholars, for full-time or part-time activities for periods of one to three years. Support is available for various combinations of scholars, consultants, and research assistants; project-related travel; field work; applications of information technology; and technical support and services. All grantees are expected to disseminate the results of their work to the appropriate scholarly and public audiences.

Digital Humanities Advancement Grants (DHAG) support digital projects throughout their lifecycles, from early start-up phases through implementation and long-term sustainability. Experimentation, reuse, and extensibility are hallmarks of this grant category, leading to innovative work that can scale to enhance research, teaching, and public programming in the humanities.

Public Humanities Fellowship

In partnership with the New York Council for the Humanities, the Heyman Center Public Humanities Initiative offers graduate students the opportunity to explore the public dimensions of their own scholarship by supporting projects that are situated in the public sphere. Public Humanities Fellows receive training in the methods and approaches of public scholarship, often working closely with organizations committed to serving public audiences.The Heyman Center Public Humanities Fellowship supports proposed projects that connect humanities research to non-academic audiences.

American Council of Learned Societies Collaborative Fellowships

The aim of this fellowship program is to offer small teams of two or more scholars the opportunity to collaborate intensively on a single, substantive project. The fellowship supports projects that produce a tangible research product (such as joint print or web publications) for which two or more collaborators will take credit.
