Stephanie Schwartz is a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at Columbia University.

Her current research focuses on the nexus of civil war and migration in Burundi and South Sudan.

Schwartz served as a Senior Program Specialist at the U.S. Institute of Peace from 2008 to 2011 and has worked with multiple international and local NGOs including the World Bank and the Sudd Institute. She was named as one of the 'Top 99 under 33 Foreign Policy Leaders' in 2012 by Diplomatic Courier and Young Professionals in Foreign Policy. 

She is the author of Agents of Change: Youth in Post-Conflict Reconstruction. The book challenges prior notions of the impact of the global youth population bulge.

Schwartz holds an M.A. and M.Phil in Political Science from Columbia University and B.A. from Wesleyan University.
